This beautiful couple called me just a few weeks before their wedding to see if I was available. AMAZINGLY, I was! Even if I hadn't been, I would have gone out of my way to help them find an awesome Photographer for their special day. The Bride and I were close friends, all through our high school years. While our lives have taken us to very different places, we still make an effort to stay in touch, and when we get together, its like the years between never existed. I was so excited to be able to see her marry this very sweet man! Check out their engagement photos here. There are so many details with this wedding that I just loved. The bride wanted a casual, comfortable wedding, part of that included a non-traditional dress. She made the trip up to Calgary before the wedding to go dress shopping, I was thrilled to be able to join her for this adventure because she wasn't searching for a traditional gown. She was more interested in something that fit her personal style and her ideas for the wedding. This was the beautiful dress that we discovered! The next step was finding some gorgeous boots to finish it off! The skies! The beautiful Alberta foothills. There are very few locations that are as lovely! The bride has an incredible family who made sure her day was taken care of. They cooked the food, prepared the site, decorated and cleaned up. This wedding was a small intimate gathering, and the love that the family members and friends have for the bride and groom is evident in all that they did for the couple. Getting ready before the ceremony. The ceremony First Dance! Right after I DO! The whole family joined in! The Bride's parents. You can see how much they are still in love with each other, even after all the years they have been together! The wedding party! Now, all Family. I took the Bride and Groom out for some creative, quiet time. The Bride let me do some creative things with her! This is what we came up with. Having a little Country Fun! And some time with the horses! Almost forgot to do the garter! She wasn't really excited to have caught the garter. Once in a while, I can be convinced to be in one of the photos. Thank you M&C for inviting me to share in your day! Special Thanks also to my second photographer & assistant

D&B have been guests and wedding party members at a couple of weddings that I have photographed in the past. This time, it was finally their wedding. D&B are definitely a couple who LOVE their families, and their families love them. As I watched the activities over the weekend, I couldn't help but hope that one day my family will show that kind of love and expression to each other. D wanted to wear her mother's wedding gown for her ceremony. This was such a lovely expression of tradition and respect, and its very rarely something I have photographed. You could see how appreciative both her parents were when she revealed the dress to them. The whole wedding was focused on their friends and family just having fun and a chance to have a weekend together to bond. It was such a great idea to allow the two families more time to become one. Some images of the bride. Click on each image to see it full size. And a few of the Groom. The ceremony. It was such a beautiful small town chapel. The fun stuff. Details The REALLY Fun Stuff!! #wedding, #YYC, #YYCwedding,#Rockymountains, #countrywedding, #Castlemountain, #rockymountainwedding, #bride, #groom, #love, #gown
One of my favourite families, I have been fortunate enough to watch this family grow from just Mom and Dad to now 2 beautiful little angels.
This little boy has such a lovely big sister to take care of him as he grows. This gal is such a terrific model. I used to be her roommate when we went to University together. It was so great to see her again and have the opportunity to work with her and show her how amazingly beautiful she is.
Going back through the archives, I am catching up on recent shoots that haven't actually been shared on the blog.
Although my good friend B wasn't feeling very well this day, she was a great sport and was willing to try just about anything that I suggested to her. In the end, she looks marvelous! Get your Christmas Cards and your Family Christmas photos, all at the same time.
This year the mini-sessions will be only one day, Saturday, November 16, 2013. Sessions are available every 15 minutes from 9am-4pm... Last session is at 3:30....
