I had my weekend off, and this weekend I think I made up for it, for sure. This was a wonderfully busy weekend. I was sad that the wind was so chilly, it really made the outdoor shoots a bit more challenging. Things started off early on Saturday morning. I met my first family down in the Rotary Park connected to Fish Creek Park. They had a cute little boy, with another one to come soon. So, I will definitely have some new baby pics in a few weeks. Stay tuned for that one. :) That afternoon I had another family shoot. I have worked with R and her family before, in fact they were one of my very first clients. They wanted to celebrate their youngest's first birthday, and have some photos to remember. Sunday morning I was planning on being out early to the zoo, but that shoot got postponed. My next shoot was with K and her new baby. I was so excited to see this little one. She was so calm and slept almost the entire time. When she did wake up, she had the most enormous blue eyes. She will really be a knockout when she grows up, just gorgeous. My final shoot on Sunday was with a couple expecting their very first. They were a referral from another client. (Thank-You K.) I just have to say how great it is to get referrals, it lets me know that I am heading in the right direction.
So, there will definitely be some more wee ones in weeks to come. Seems like there is an overwhelming amount of new ones on the way. :) I keep promising myself a weekend off, but I think it will have to wait until next weekend. I only had one shoot, but it was a long one. This is not a bad thing because I got to try out all sorts of different techniques and lighting set-ups. Things I probably wouldnt normally try, but that's the benefit of working with friends. I shot with several different lighting arrangements as well as backgrounds.
Wow, what a terrific weekend! Canada sets the record for gold. Loved the hockey game. Way to go. Saturday was jam packed. In the morning I worked with A and her little one. There was a definite ladybug theme. So cute, and I have to mention their puppy "Tequila", that little one was trying to steal the show. In the afternoon I had an outdoor shoot in Fish Creek Park. What a gorgeous day to go out and get some wonderful shots. I worked with L and her family. Two gorgeous little girls. They were delighted to explore all the great outdoors has to offer. When I said Saturday was jam packed, I wasnt kidding. I did a consult for a very small wedding. I am very excited for this one, but no more details. I will save the surprise until after the big day.
Sunday was a bit quieter, I only had one shoot. It was with E and A. They are expecting a new bundle of joy very soon. I have to say as soon as I saw E I was so excited because she had this gorgeous belly. She had picked out some terrific outfits and accessories. Since we had such great weather again, we went outdoors for part of the shoot. That bright sunlight can sure be tricky, but I think that we got some great shots in the end. I had two terrific shoots on Sunday. In the morning I worked with J and her husband & daughter. The daughter was nearly six months old and so cheerful. She was smiling and so agreeable all morning. She let me put her in all sorts of different outfits, and use so many different props.
I am very happy with the photos in the end. I am hoping J is as well. In the afternoon I went to work with M and her two daughters and young son. The daughters were so polite and great at posing. The younger daughter had this little twinkle in her eye that makes me think she has got her own little personality. When I finally met the son, he was not too sure about me and my flashing lights and giant camera. He was sure he wanted his mom and dad. I did manage to catch a few shots of him playing with his toys when he was a bit more relaxed. I just have to mention the M has one of the most amazing paintings.. She told me it was called "The Blue Comes Through" (I think). I have seen it in several places, never in anyone's home, but I just think it is so amazing. |
