Saturday was such a fantastic day! The weather was incredible. I was glad to have just one shoot that day. K & D had their little one on Tuesday, so Saturday was their newborn shoot. He was just so perfect, and so tiny. I couldnt believe how small he was. And yet, he was over 7lbs. We did so many naked and diaper shots with him, he was really cold and we had to break for a bit to warm him up and make him happy. In the end there are some beautiful shots of him with his mommy and daddy. On Sunday I had an early morning shoot at the zoo. What a great place to do some nice informal family shots. C&G brought their little boy J, who is just 7 months old. He was such a photogenic baby, and just so content. He loved sitting on the grass and hearing his mommy sing. And since this family lives here in Calgary, they of course are Flames fans. We got some terrific shots of them in their red jerseys. My final shoot of the weekend was a new genre for me. Fitness Modeling. Loved it. L had managed to get the owner of the gym she goes to, to let us use the studio for the shoot. So I have to give a shout out to The Fit Zone in Douglasdale.
It was a terrific space, nice and quiet. L is getting ready for some competitions and wanted to have some shots. She was by far the most prepared model I have ever had. She came with plenty of costumes and had been practising some fantastic posing. We had a terrific time! I had my weekend off, and this weekend I think I made up for it, for sure. This was a wonderfully busy weekend. I was sad that the wind was so chilly, it really made the outdoor shoots a bit more challenging. Things started off early on Saturday morning. I met my first family down in the Rotary Park connected to Fish Creek Park. They had a cute little boy, with another one to come soon. So, I will definitely have some new baby pics in a few weeks. Stay tuned for that one. :) That afternoon I had another family shoot. I have worked with R and her family before, in fact they were one of my very first clients. They wanted to celebrate their youngest's first birthday, and have some photos to remember. Sunday morning I was planning on being out early to the zoo, but that shoot got postponed. My next shoot was with K and her new baby. I was so excited to see this little one. She was so calm and slept almost the entire time. When she did wake up, she had the most enormous blue eyes. She will really be a knockout when she grows up, just gorgeous. My final shoot on Sunday was with a couple expecting their very first. They were a referral from another client. (Thank-You K.) I just have to say how great it is to get referrals, it lets me know that I am heading in the right direction.
So, there will definitely be some more wee ones in weeks to come. Seems like there is an overwhelming amount of new ones on the way. :) |
